Fashion Design / Creative Direction / Textile Design - Knitwear Capsule - Spring '21
Inspired by the duality of Mexican American identity and the ambiguity of not being purely one or the other. In this capsule, we used iconic Mexican imagery with a modern visual approach. Textile creation was inspired by the Talavera tiles, Selena, La Virgen de Guadalupe and vintage stamps of the 1968 Olympics celebrated in Mexico City. All pieces are unisex and developed in yarn knit textiles to better describe the fluidity of identity that represents Latin transplants in a big city like New York.
